Monaco Chamber of Commerce trade mission to Montenegro: promising business prospects for participating Monaco-based companies

16/10/2026

Nearly thirty business leaders joined the Monaco Chamber of Commerce on its trade mission to Montenegro from 13 to 16 October to explore or take a fresh look at a country offering a wealth of business opportunities. With the valuable support of Anthony Stent-Torriani, Honorary Consul of Montenegro in Monaco, and in cooperation with the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, the delegation was introduced to a wide range of opportunities.

The mission began in Podgorica, the capital, with an Economic Forum. After the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro presented a comprehensive overview of the country’s economy, the two chambers signed a cooperation agreement. An intensive programme of B2B meetings followed, bringing together professionals from sectors including finance, innovation, yachting and events. In total, more than 150 business meetings were arranged for companies from the Principality.

To build on this first-hand experience and gain a clearer understanding of the country’s economy, the delegation visited the Uniprom aluminium plant, gaining fascinating insight into the metals industry. Aluminium and related products account for a significant share of Montenegro’s total exports.

The visit continued with a day spent exploring Montenegro’s port infrastructure, which serves two main areas of activity: large-scale freight and passenger transport, and the development of luxury nautical tourism, including the construction of marinas along the Adriatic coast.

The potential for closer ties between Monaco and Montenegro was discussed, with investment, tourism and yachting identified as key areas of shared interest.

The mission concluded at the luxury Porto Montenegro marina in Tivat with a convivial dinner at Maya Bay, a restaurant owned by Monaco-based Maya Collection. The group’s managing director, Richard Maria, attended. The dinner provided a final opportunity for delegation members to strengthen their ties, bringing a highly successful visit to a close.
